{"id":678,"date":"2024-06-25T16:53:16","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T16:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.magnoliamethodist.com\/?page_id=678"},"modified":"2024-08-08T01:09:00","modified_gmt":"2024-08-08T01:09:00","slug":"from-pastor-matt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.magnoliamethodist.com\/?page_id=678","title":{"rendered":"From Pastor Matt"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We all have h<\/strong><strong>opes and dreams.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>How important is it for our hopes and dreams to become one with the will of God?&nbsp; This is v<\/strong><strong>ery hard question for the world,&nbsp; hard question for the spiritually immature, and really hard for those who have not put down any type spiritual root system.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The book of Proverbs places high value on productivity.&nbsp; The willingness to work hard and do one\u2019s very best at any and every job is a vital part of wise living.&nbsp; Wise living is a way of serving God with our very best.&nbsp; We read about the hard working ants.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We read about the sluggard.&nbsp; Today sluggard, consider your way and be wise.&nbsp; Have you looked a slug lately?&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>A slug is an almost lifeless and slimy unattractive creature.&nbsp; The sluggard is lacking in hopes and dreams.&nbsp; The sluggard would not be considered a dream chaser.&nbsp; Both are living life for themselves.&nbsp; Too much of either, the sluggard or to much of the dream chasing is not being wise.&nbsp; It Is not of Christ or God\u2019s will for our earthly life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Have you look at the little ants in an ant hill lately? Proverbs 6:<\/strong><strong>7-8 state that the ant what? \u201cHas no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers it food at harvest.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The ant colony has different levels of authority.&nbsp; They don\u2019t tell each other what to do.&nbsp; By instinct, the ant has motivation.&nbsp; Today if we could bottle up some of that motivation, every business and most parents would be placing orders for motivation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As the ant stores and gathers, we think of the great teachers, successful business, o<\/strong><strong>lympic and super star athletes,&nbsp; they spent hours, days, week, and much of a life time in preparation.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Chasing dreams and goals.&nbsp; And the world says, chase those dreams.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Society says, &#8220;go, go, go as fast as you can and do whatever you need to do.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We are not of the world&#8230; are we?&nbsp; Are you?&nbsp;&nbsp;In <\/strong><strong>Jesus\u2019 very first instruction to the church in the book of Acts. 1:4, Jesus said &#8220;Wait.&#8221;&nbsp; The church was to wait for God\u2019s Holy Spirit to move.&nbsp; Acts 1:4, Jesus said, \u201cDo not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I encourage you today to prayerfully seek the Lord&#8217;s leading in your life.&nbsp; Asking the Lord, &#8220;Do my hopes and dreams line up with you Lord?&nbsp; Do my hopes and dreams help me serve the Lord to the fullest?&#8221;<\/strong>    Pastor Matt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We all have hopes and dreams.&nbsp;&nbsp;How important is it for our hopes and dreams to become one with the will of God?&nbsp; This is very hard question for the world,&nbsp; hard question for the spiritually immature, and really hard for those who have not put down any type spiritual root system.
